Bringing portraits to life...

I combine my love of nature, fine art and craft to create portraits of wildlife, people and their pets.

I paint traditional portraits in oils or sculpt textured portraits on wood. Using locally sourced seasoned timber offcuts, I apply unique combinations of relief carving, pyrography, wax and natural pigments, sometimes adding materials such as seeds, feathers, shells and semi-precious stones. This works especially well for wildlife, and my inspiration comes from the countryside of Rutland and surrounding counties where I regularly walk.
I can create a portrait painting or wood sculpture of a loved one by meeting you in person to take photos or by simply referring to your own photographs.
